ABOUT THE PROJECT

The building is made up of a solid, horizontal, underground basement that is linked to the exterior through a series of subtraction operations on its perimeter. These cavities in turn participate in the spatial and formal continuity of the transition areas. inside of it. The second element that completes the formal composition is a plate in the form of a free and flexible ground floor screen, which is erected on the esplanade with a public green blanket and builds a new point of interest and reference on the campus as a whole.

The building participates in the open landscape of the campus, the ground floor is conceived as a horizontal extension that opposes the rugged topography of the plot to reconstruct a plan for public and green use in the format of a large university square that is located on the last main basement level. In this sense, the three levels of the basement are linked to the large circular patio-hollow that contains the helicoidal ramp intended to connect the pedestrian flows of the different public levels of the public space, inviting a performative encounter between the limited functions of the interior and the spontaneous circuits of the campus.
